exchanges. When we reviewed this site, there were few property listings in their
“Exchanger’s Clearinghouse,” but we recommend that you go straight to their free
1031 Procedure Manual for a very comprehensive discussion of this topic.

- www.1031corp.com - This Pennsylvania-based site has useful information throughout.
See the FAQ page and the How to Complete IRS Form 8824 link on the Tax Information
page. They provide local seminars and their free Property Listing page has close to
200 listings (most in PA, but many elsewhere as well).
IRS Publication 544, Nontaxable Exchanges

ACROBAT READER on the General Topics page. This is the IRS's
discussion of nontaxable capital gains for real property, and specifically 1031
exchanges. You won't find endless legalese here, but rather plain English with plenty
of examples. Pages 10 and 30 are where discussions of exchanges begin, and page 35 has
an example of how to fill out Form 8824. You can download that form
(www.irs.gov/pub/irs-fill/f8824.pdf)
in a version that you can fill in even without having the full version of Acrobat. If
you need to find a different form or publication, go to
www.irs.gov/formspubs.
